Fresco is a Myanmar legally registered company, producing and marketing high-end vegetables since 2007 (at that time registered as Valleverde Co.ltd) from its base in Heho Township (Southern Shan State).
Fresco Myanmar Co. Ltd was founded in 2007 by a group of agronomists and food enthusiasts working together to bring healthy, delicious and fresh vegetables, salads and herbs to people in Myanmar.

Fresco has obtained GAP Certification for its greenhouse productions of bell-peppers, tomatoes, lettuces, endorsing its expertise and high standards of quality.
The main production area of Fresco is located in Heho, Shan state. Fresco also works with some farmers near Yangon. Fresco has obtained MIC endorsement.
Experience: The core Fresco team has more than 15 years of experience in growing vegetables in Myanmar. Paolo Cerati, agronomist and Fresco’s managing director, has been living in Myanmar since 2005, working both in the private and the development sector, and has a deep knowledge of the country.
Expertise: Fresco’s team has gained a deep professional technical knowledge on both, hydroponic greenhouse and open field cultivation, and it is connected with professional international agribusiness companies that give technical support when needed (irrigation, agronomy, infrastructure, bio-control companies etc).
Leadership/Import substitution: The Fresco team was the first to introduce high quality “western” vegetables in Myanmar while modern retail, hotels and restaurants were importing such products. Therefore, filling a niche in the local production.
Capability Development: Fresco is promoting the development of the horticulture sector, worked with GIZ, PFR Institute fron New Zealand, worked with INGO to help/train farmers to become professional producers.
Fresco had provided to 40 farmers a professional greenhouse that they are using for hydroponic lettuces production for Fresco’s clients such as KFC, Citymarts, hotels and restaurants all over the country.
Fresco envisions to support the livelihoods of smallholder women farmers, providing technical training and high-value agricultural inputs and offering to the same farmers demand-driven, guaranteed business opportunities through a contract farming scheme for the production of vegetables and other crops.
Fresco being a company founded, owned and managed by former development and emergency worker with a proven track of projects and actions managed according to the principles and the best practices of the cooperation for development, adopts responsible business practices, and is committed to the development of the rural households and communities it works with.
